Obituary

Robert Bruce Wallace, Jr.

Robert Bruce Wallace, Jr. passed away on May 18, 2021 at the age of 58, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Rob was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County; he spent his childhood in Glen Ellen, and his later years in Santa Rosa and Windsor. Rob was a graduate of Simpson College, where he earned a Master's degree in Education, and later earned a second Master's in Business Administration from Golden Gate University.

As a San Francisco Giants season ticket holder, some of Rob's favorite days were spent with family and friends at the ballpark. He was also a proud nerd, with an encyclopedic knowledge of subjects spanning from comic book superheroes to real life sciences and technology. Rob's true passions lay within his service to others, especially through his church. Rob attended First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa for 31 years, where he served as an Elder and worked in youth and children's ministries. Rob shined a light of hope, love and kindness to all those who knew him. Through Rob we could always see God's light, and feel God's love.

Rob is survived by his loving wife, Patty, his children, Andrew (Amanda), Nick (Esme), Haley, Hilary (John), and Cori (Laurence), and his eight grandchildren, ranging in age from six weeks to five years old. Although Rob's love for all of his family was boundless, it was his grandchildren who brought him the most pure-hearted joy.

Rob was predeceased by his father Robert Wallace, Sr. (Laura), and also survived by his mother Marjory Hernandez (Andy). He was the eldest brother to Richard, Roy and Heather, and a beloved uncle as well.
There will be a celebration of life held in memory of Rob on June 26, at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Rosa, 1550 Pacific Ave, 95404. Please join us in honoring Rob's legacy. Casual attire is encouraged, and if you share any of Rob's passions (the Giants, the Warriors, the 'Niners, comic books, Star Wars, Star Trek, or plaid short sleeve button up shirts), please feel free to include these in your wardrobe decisions for the day.
