Roy was born and raised in San Francisco. He attended Sacred Heart High School and graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga with a B.A. in English Literature. Upon graduation he was drafted and served two years in the US Army.
In 1963 Roy went to work for the IRS in San Francisco. Through numerous promotions Roy worked in Phoenix AZ, Philadelphia PA, Washington D.C., and in 1975, transferred back to Philadelphia, where he retired in 1993. In 1998 he returned to the Bay Area and moved to Santa Rosa. Roy was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, jogging, music, and bridge. An avid reader, he was often found happily engrossed in a good book.
Roy is survived by his wife of 58 years Helene, son John, and daughter Janet Jacquart (David). Roy was an intelligent, kind, down-to-earth man. He was a loving husband and a patient Dad who will be dearly missed.
